Learning the Piano: Attitudes to parental involvement
This powerpoint presentation arose from my research for a master’s degree in Psychology for Musicians at Sheffield University, which I completed in 2003. My research investigated the attitudes of teachers, parents and pupils to parental involvement when children learn the piano. The presentation has been given at the:
  • Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE) Conference at the Open University in April 2004
  • British Suzuki Institute (BSI) teacher training course in London in June 2004
  • British Psychological Society (BPS) Conference at Leeds Metropolitan University in September 2004.
